Accessories for cameras
In the majority of cases the presence of the accessories, which are described below, is not necessary, but these accessories can significantly accelerate the process of shooting and post processing of the spherical 3D panoramas. Also, there are panoramas, nearly impossible to shoot without these gadgets.
The means of camera remote control
- The remote control cable (trigger cable) for the photo camera
The release cable is used to prevent the direct contact of the photographer with the camera. This way the tremor of the camera during the long exposures is avoided and the possibility of the image blurring is decreased. This is especially important when shooting the 3D panoramas with bracketing, when all the expositions of the frame must match pixel to pixel. The shooting with the use of the trigger cable also allows the photographer to be on such a distance from the camera, when his or her shadow is not in the frame zone. The trigger cables can be of a different length – usually they’re from 30 centimeters to 1,5 meters long and can be even longer. The lengthener can be purchased for some models. Besides the “simple” cables with one button for the shutter release there are more advanced trigger cables of remote control, which, apart from the control buttons, also have the display, speaker, etc. But the price of such “toy” can be higher, than the price of the second hand DSLR camera.

Canon Remote Switch RS-60E3
I use the infrared remote control for the spherical 360 panoramas shooting. Unlike the remote control cable, there’s no need to switch it on and off the camera over and over again and it doesn’t interfere the manipulations with the panoramic head. The only drawback it has, in my opinion, is that it has to be directed at the front side of the camera, where the sensor of signal reception is located. When shooting with the fisheye lens, the photographer (or his hand) can appear in the frame. But this disadvantage only appears for shooting in the open spaces, because one can always go into the next room, when the interior is being photographed, because the infrared rays are perfectly mirrored from the walls and the other surfaces. The simple remote controls can be purchased for less, then 10$.
Infrared remote control (Nikon ML-L3)
All the disadvantages of the simple remote controls, which are described above, can be eliminated by using the remote control tool, which consists of 2 parts – of the sender and receiver of the signal. Some tools work with the infrared signal, some work with radio signal. The effective range they have equals to 100 meters and the price is approximately 30-80$, depending on the model.

Bubble level
The bubble level (spirit level) is installed into the socket for the camera’s external flash (hot shoe) and makes it possible to regulate the camera’s level in 2 panels. It’s used mainly when shooting the nadir – both from handheld camera and the camera, installed on the tripod. If your tripod doesn’t have the leveling base or your tripod head doesn’t have its own level, the bubble level can be used for the horizontal level of the panoramic head.
